By using swubakes.com or placing an order with Swu Bakes, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them before ordering.
About us
Swu Bakes is a small bakery in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, owned and operated by Sandy Wu. We make handcrafted, gluten-free macarons for pickup.
Orders
When you place an order through our website, you're making an offer to buy from us. We accept the offer when we confirm the order by email. Orders are subject to availability.
Order timing:
Standard orders (24–48 macarons): 7 days in advance
Custom character designs: 10 days in advance
Large orders (100+ macarons): 14 days in advance
Rush orders may be possible for an additional fee — ask first
Custom orders: Custom Character Macarons and Custom Classic Macarons require a non-refundable $50 deposit to reserve your slot. The remaining balance is invoiced once the design is confirmed.
Pricing and payment
Prices are listed on the website and may change without notice. We accept major credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay through checkout. All transactions are in U.S. dollars.
Pickup, shipping, and delivery
We are pickup-only at Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We do not ship. Local delivery in Fort Greene may be available for an additional fee — ask when ordering.
You'll receive the exact pickup date, time, and location once your order is confirmed. If you can't make pickup, message us at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows cannot be rescheduled, and the order is forfeited.
All sales final
All sales are final. We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges. Macarons are perishable and made to order, so please double-check the details before submitting your order. The $50 custom-order deposit is non-refundable from the moment it's paid.
If something is genuinely wrong with your order at pickup — wrong items, missing items — email swubakes@gmail.com within 24 hours of pickup and we'll work with you to address it.
Allergens
Every macaron contains almonds, eggs, and dairy. Cross-contact with gluten and other tree nuts is possible. If you have a severe allergy, email us before ordering. By placing an order, you acknowledge you've read and accept this allergen statement. We are not liable for allergic reactions.
Custom designs and intellectual property
Any character designs, artwork, themes, or reference images you submit must be your own or properly licensed for personal use. You're responsible for any copyright or trademark issues with material you send us, and you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your submissions.
You grant us permission to bake the macarons based on your design, photograph the finished product, and use those photos in our portfolio, on our website, and on social media. We will not duplicate or sell your custom designs to other customers without your permission.
All original designs, recipes, photographs, and copy on swubakes.com are owned by Swu Bakes. Please don't reproduce them commercially without asking.
Limitation of liability
We do our best to make every macaron safe, beautiful, and delicious. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Swu Bakes is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or products. Our total liability for any single claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website or placing new orders means you accept any updates.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Kings County, New York.
